Tattoo Inspiration

Sources: one, two, three, four

I've always been a major fan of tattoos, there's just something about the permanence of a beautiful piece of art on your skin forever. Of course, that's not always the case for everyone but you can't argue that many, many people are covered in stunningly gorgeous pieces.

I already have one tattoo - a memorial tattoo I got on a whim this summer. It means a lot to me, but it scarred badly and that's a major shame :( But tomorrow, I have an appointment booked for a brand new tattoo. It's going to cost me an absolute fortune (more than my rent!) but at the end of the day, I don't mind paying out for something that will hopefully be on me forever. I've spent more on piercings and I barely wear any of mine!

The design is all sorted - an old school tall ship (for my love of nautical history) on my thigh - but I just can't wait. Hopefully I'll have some photos of it on Monday, I just can't wait to be able to show it off, really!

  1. I love tattoos! I think some of them look so stunning and pretty!
I don't think I would ever get one myself. I am far too indecisive so might end up regretting I had gone for another design.
I would get one if they weren't permanent haha.

    1. Haha, tell me about it! I'm really bad at making decisions and it's taken me so long to figure out what I wanted to get - I always knew I wanted something nautical but in the past few months I've bounced between wanting a pin up girl or an anchor or a ship...I think it's a lot easier to settle when you've seen a design though, even when I first went into the shop to talk about it I still wasn't 100% certain but I fell in love with the design. I think it helps that it's something meaningful to me too though!

  2. I've wanted an old school ship ever since I found an old penny with one on it. These ones are amazing inspiration, can't wait to see yours :)

    1. Aren't they just? I love the "modern" take on old school tattoos, the beautiful bright colours are just so lovely. I'm so excited!

  3. Ohh how exciting! I've been wanting to get a tattoo for about a year now, I have a few in mind but so far I've been too much of a wuss to go!

    1. Definitely take the plunge! I'd totally recommend starting small - my first tattoo took 20 minutes vs today's three hours - so you get a decent indication of how you're going to handle it. It's such an odd feeling that you just can't predict if it's something you're going to be comfortable with.
